OUR STORY
HOW WE MET
Camryn and Brock’s journey began in March 2020, a time when the world slowed down and hearts leaned into what truly mattered. Although the exact moment of their meeting remains theirs alone, they found each other at the start of the pandemic—a season marked by uncertainty but also by new connections formed in the quiet moments of the world. Their shared love for life, laughter, and Disney magic drew them closer, lighting a spark that has only grown stronger with time.
THE FIRST DATE
Their first date might not be written in an article, but in their hearts, it was a page that set the tone for their story. Surrounded by their shared passions for storytelling and a love for all things Disney, they discovered a connection that felt timeless. Whether it was a simple walk or a cozy night in, what mattered most was being together. From that day on, Camryn and Brock knew they had found something extraordinary in each other—an adventure worthy of a lifetime.
THE PROPOSAL
Picture this: Brock proposed to Camryn on January 7, 2022, which was also her 32nd birthday. The proposal was themed around the Disney-Pixar movie Up, a film that held special meaning for the couple, especially during the pandemic when they couldn't travel. Powell recreated elements from the movie in their backyard, complete with market lights, candles, and balloons. Their dog, Riley, even played a role, donning an app-controlled collar reminiscent of the character Dug. Grimes was surprised and touched by the gesture, repeatedly exclaiming, "Oh my God," during the proposal.
YOU WON'T WANT TO LEAVE
The Columns is no ordinary hotel. Built in 1883 as a private residence, it was converted into a boarding house during World War I. The Columns has been part of New Orleans long enough that it’s become a landmark in its own right. Overlooking St. Charles Avenue, with its stately magnolia trees and streetcar line, the Columns is an easygoing walk from other historic mansions in the district.
